Interests

Dr. Grotz has special interests in martial arts, and as a long-time student of Tae Kwon Do will use the martial arts in lieu of physical therapy when appropriate. Tai Chi may also be advised. Music-in particular piano and trumpet performance-is another personal interest, and some patients will present with injuries from the overuse of musical instruments, or with injuries that challenge their return to their vocation.

He participates in community activities, attempting to favorably influence mankind with involvements in the Youth Tennis Advantage (YTA) as a supporter, in the Make-a-Wish foundation (when able to assist with specific assignments), and as the medical site director for the 2006 Homeless Jubilee (wherein thousands of homeless individuals were provided food, clothing, and enabling notions encouraging improved self-esteem and well-being). In addition, Dr. Grotz has visited Thailand to lecture at the police and military hospitals where gratis surgery was performed.
